How add google analytics code

How i can add a google analytic code on the template footer, i try to add the code but with the smarty class i get an error, i have add it on the footer.tpl of the template directory.
I try to create a new add for footer but get an error :

It's impossible to insert a script code ??

it's ok i find the good code just add :

...javascript code....

but you must put this code directly on the template footer file without create a new add...
